A Poem For Advent

a poem for advent
In this Advent season,
you can rest in the assurance that no matter what darkness
you’re living through, you are not alone.
And no matter what suffering you endure, you are not stranded,
or left to bare it on your own.
The Prince of Peace, our Wonderful Counselor, is never far away.
He came for the broken, hurting people, our salvation he did pay.
He came to guide us unto a path of peace, he came down for you,
and he came down for me.
The grief, the suffering, the dark days, and the dark nights,
the addiction, the broken heart, the struggle to do what is right –
His yoke is easy, and his burden is light.
For us weary, and burdened people, or tormented by an inner fight-
He came to give us rest – in this we can delight.
Oh you who are hurting, you are not alone-not in the morning, not in the noontime, and not even in the night.
you are not alone

you are not alone
