I don’t know about you but with everything going on in the world and in America, I keep trying to;

• Understand.
• Figure it all out.
• Prepare for what might come next.
• Piece together and make sense of conflicting information.
• Weigh the good against the bad.

And yet, EVERY SINGLE DAY, a new curve ball in the news just muddies up anything I thought I had figured out.  I’ll feel one way but then the next day, another way entirely.  Up and down, week after week, trying desperately to hang on to the rope in this tug of war we find ourselves in.

What follows?

• Confusion.
• Worry.
• Fear.
• Frustration.
• Anger.
• Stress.
• Anxiety.
• Mental, emotional and even physical exhaustion.

And what’s worse? It becomes really hard to trust.

Know what I mean?  Can you relate?

Well, here’s the thing;  God told us to stop trying to figure it all out in the first place.  

That’s right.  STOP.  He said not to try to make any sense of it but rather to just TRUST Him. COMPLETELY. 

I know it’s hard right now.

I know it feels like a big ask when;

• Nothing makes sense.
• We feel unrestful.
• We’re afraid.
• We see so much hatred around us.
• We feel alone or like we’re up against the world.
• Other people just want to debate us or bully us or hate us.
• We can’t imagine what comes next.
• We’re facing so many unknowns.

Especially in times like these.  

But He’s not asking us, in fact, He’s commanding us.

What have you got to lose, anyway?  Your sanity?   If you’re anything like me, you lost that a few news reports ago.

So, let’s give this a try together and see if we don’t just trade in that confusion for some peace….a PEACE that transcends ALL understanding.

Repeat after me:

“I TRUST YOU GOD, NO MATTER WHAT.”

Next step? Lean on Him.  

What have you got to lose, anyway?

Everything! You have everything to lose and in losing yourself, you have everything to gain!

As Paul said in Philippians 1:21, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

So, don’t be afraid to die to your own understanding as you learn to trust that God has this whole thing already figured out.
